Co-Founder — Chris Cruikshank

Renowned artist, Chris Cruikshank, oversees our unique and inspiring curriculum that “wows” students across the country.  She has selected and “kid tested” at least 16 other artists’ work to include — all of which makes the KidzArt / Art Innovators curriculum rich and diverse.

Chris was a child artist, doing studio work from the age of 7.  Her pencil drawings received numerous Honorable Mention awards in the San Francisco Chronicle.  As a young adult, her paintings were shown around the world in a traveling student art show.  She continued to create art while studying art history and photography at the University of California, Berkeley.  She studied art from other cultures earning a BA in anthropology.  Questioning motivation and creativity, she continued in her studies and received an MA in psychology.

Chris has been in over 20 juried shows during her 25 year career, winning several awards including Best of Show in San Francisco, California.   Her panoramic painted silk banners hang in collections all over the world.  Chris has also served on several Boards of Directors for art galleries and arts organizations and is well versed in the business of art.  She has enjoyed a rewarding career of developing curriculum and teaching art to children and adults for over 20 years.
