What is balance?
In art, balance describes how objects in a picture are distributed. Whether or not an image is balanced can tell you a lot about the meaning behind the image.
Things to think about
Today’s free creative art activity is a coloring page depicting an underwater scene. Here are some things to think about:
- Do the objects in this image appear cluttered or far away from each other?
- If the narwhal and submarine were very far away from each other, would that change what is happening in the picture?
