WCPSS | After-School Art Clubs

Join us as we learn different artistic styles while exploring with a variety of fine art mediums! Children of all skill levels will enjoy this confidence building class as they advance their skills in drawing, painting, and design. Every week is a new project that students will be able to take home after class. Space is limited!

We are currently offering after-school art clubs at the following schools. Classes are offered when school is in session. For year-round schools, students only pay for and attend classes on the weeks they track in.

*Due to COVID-19 we are temporarily pausing our after-school classes at Wake County Schools. Please check back soon for updates!

What We Teach

Our creative art program helps children build upon their unique individual skill set as they learn and practice applying various techniques in drawing, painting, and design. Topics are fun and engaging and include such things as; animals, people, exotic landscapes, space, imaginative characters, cartooning, famous artists/styles, and more.

Drawing Skills
Our experienced instructors teach a variety of drawing styles and techniques that children will have fun practicing, learning, and exploring. Examples include shading, textures, 3D drawing, sketching, cartooning, and much more!

Painting Techniques
Children will learn all about color theory, application techniques, balance, gradients, and much more as they create amazing paintings using oil pastel, chalk pastel, and watercolor

Who Can Participate

We welcome students from grade 1st-5th. Each class includes students from multiple grade levels, and children generally sit near others of their own age. We find this balance of close collaboration with others in their own grade and some interaction with children in other grades provides an enjoyable and meaningful experience for most kids.

Our class is designed to allow students of all skill levels to learn and explore art where they are at. Each piece of our curriculum is selected by certified instructors so young children can create basic versions, while older students and more experienced artists can add their own flourishes to keep it challenging.

Before & After-Class

Right after school lets out, students walk to our reserved classroom in their school. Most schools make an announcement to remind KidzArt students to report to our classroom.

Parents, please inform your child's homeroom teacher that they are participating in KidzArt. Most students walk to class themselves, but if you are concerned about your child the first few times, you can ask your child's homeroom teacher to assist him/her in arriving in class.

After class, we walk your child to carpool pickup line or on-site after-school care program based on your direction (these questions are asked during the registration process).

KidzArt Policys

KidzArt Cancellation Policy

We stand by our classes with a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee! If your child does not have a great time, and you decide to withdraw after the first week of class, we will issue you a full refund if cancelled before the second week of class. Any cancellations after the second week will not receive a refund, however, we will issue you a class credit to use towards a future session.

Wake County School Closures

Unfortunately we are unable to provide a refund in the event Wake County schools close (when school is closed, our class for that day is cancelled). However, we will offer a make-up option whether it be a virtual class, or a class at our studio in Cary.

Absences & Non-Attendance

We do not issue refunds for non-attendance (i.e. sick days, vacations, forgetting classes, etc...) Our classes have a limited number of spaces available and we frequently have waiting lists, so each student enrolled has a guaranteed reserved spot which cannot be resold to any other student. If your family's schedule changes midway through a session , we may be able to offer a refund of the future unattended classes if we can replace your child with another student on the wait-list (when applicable).

Please note: Any cancellations made after the second week of class carry a 5% cancellation fee, to cover our non-refundable credit card fees and school rental charges.
